2007 Audi A8 4.2 V8 power steering pump

So checking with my labor guide it says the engine and transmission have to be removed for

PS pump replacement on these vehicles? Is that truly the case? Any Audi technicians know of a short cut?

This is an April Fools Joke, right? What dim-witted monkey would build an automobile that you'd have to pull the engine & transaxle out to replace the power steering pump? What happened? Did one of the Flakes who engineered the Ford F-150 get a job at Audi's engineering department?

alldata shows 4 hours. gotta remove a motor mount and a drive axle to get it out. i did an audi ps pump a month or so ago. not a whole lot of fun.

Sounds like a Honda alternator i did. Not fun at all.

No longer working at dealerships. Government employee. Now i get paid to fix Fords.

LOL Mitchell time shows 17.5 hours. Ended up not needed a pump,just had wrong fluid in it.

Wrong fluid, Huh! Someone must have put some Tequila in it. And it would keep wandering from side to side going down the highway.

Apparently they require a mineral oil based fluid. Some Pentosin 11s is what cured it,green in color.
