hi all,

in reviewing the scds recalls, ford is pushing the use of their "motorcraft electrical grease II xg-15-a. one 3 oz tube will service 10 recalls." google has very little results on this, but i find the price is ~$117!

last time i did connector work (think it was trans) it spec'd xg-12. can someone enlighten me as to the differences and why it's so expensive?

tia,

parker

My read on this is the new CEO of Ford isn't happy with Wild Turkey Bourbon on a SouthWest cheap seat flight. He wants something better, served to him on a corporate jet.

I have been using the plain old dielectric grease since it came out. A little trick I learned was to slightly scratch the male ends of the terminals before insertion, as well as a slight bend / tweak. To insure a tight and clean contact.

No longer working at dealerships. Government employee. Now i get paid to fix Fords.
