Stop posting your bullshit here for Nike and Ugg shoes. We're mechanics, we have no money to spend on your overpriced Chinese shit. We're lucky enough to find some used shoes at goodwill stores, or occasionally an extra pair winds up in Salty's dumpster and then we fight over who's a size 11 or not. Maybe you should spam a BMW owners forum somewhere and leave us alone.

Spam Monitoring Improvements

IPB has further enhanced the spam monitoring service in IP.Board 3.4.0 by adding a new option: "Do not permit the user to register an account". This reduces the amount of clean up we need to do after a new wave of attempted spam user sign-ups.

Furthermore, the "flag a member as a spammer" tool optionally deletes posted content rather than simply hiding them further reducing the amount of work needed to maintain your community.

IPB has also totally reworked their spammer-detection logic behind the scenes to make the spam monitoring service detect spammers more quickly. In addition to internal changes, they are also looking at direct integration with services like Project Honey Pot and others. The great thing about the spam monitoring service is that we can make improvements on their side that are instantly beneficial to our community.

keyCAPTCHA Integration
IP.Board has made good use of the popular reCAPTCHA service to limit the number of "bots" that sign up to your forum with the intent of posting spam. The idea being that a slightly jumbled selection of letters is easy enough for a human to read but more difficult for a computer program. However, some do find that the CAPTCHA images are becoming increasingly complex to keep up with more intelligently written programs to defeat them.

As always, IPS looks for new ways to help make running our community a little easier and they look forward to helping us here at FRT to keep those spammers at bay!

You mean Chicago crotch crickets? Yeah, I was on the forum this morning when that UGG boot clown posted. Hell, if I wanted Ugg boots I would have jumped into my Prius and motored down to the International Mall and paid way too much for them....Even I'm not such a cheap bastard that I would order my Uggs online. What the hell are Uggs anyway?

Uggs are the women i go out with.) But seriously, they really are ugly boots that seem to be all the rage for the youngsters these days. Every bit as overpriced as those Air Jordan shoes that Micheal Jordan used to plug back in the 1990's when he was still with the Chicago Bulls.

I am lucky enough to scrape up money for those cheap Chuck Taylor shoes. The price of Spam keeps going up, and our dumpster is getting a little breezy right about now. Might have to move and or find a better dumpster.

I wear a pair of Durango Western Harness boots...My last pair cost me $175....But, I usually wear them until the soles wear out at least three times...By then, they can't be resoled any more, so I go get another pair. Blazin' likes his US ARMY issue combat boots....I don't wear them any more...They make my feet hurt. I think Bill has a pair of "Beatle Boots" from the 1960's with the zipper up the side...

I got your back, I don't post very often anymore but do check the site at least once and most times twice per day. Been flaging them as spammers and deleting posts and topics since just before Thanksgiving.

Ugg boots and website hosting seem to be the most common, did see a couple pertaining to porn.... almost a shame to delete them, LOL

Publisher, Ron W and KP- I usually check in to FRT several times a day. I don't know what it takes to be a moderator on this site but I'd be more than happy to help out if needed.
